A lot of people visiting Hanalei Bay don’t know about this secret little affordable hotel, just off the beaten path of Princeville. This hotel provides very modest and well-kept rooms that come with a great view of Bali Hai. Be prepared for amazing sunsets over the mountains and the bay. You can get some snorkeling done at the Hideaway Beach, too, which only takes a few minutes to get there and be in the water. This resort may not have the same amount of flash and flare, but the place is ran like a 5-star hotel. You’ll get the best of both worlds, convenience and affordability, as this resort costs about half of what you’d pay at the biggest suites.
4. Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa
This might not be common knowledge to the first-time Hawaiian traveler, but quite a few hotels in Waikiki are on side streets. Just a fact you may have missed, but should pay close attention to. The Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort & Spa is formed by two towers joined in between by a lobby and dual pool area completely within its own block of streets. The back has great views of the assorted mountains that surround it with the clouds over the peaks. The service and amenities are what you’d expect at a high-end resort, but without the huge bill that comes with it. This isn’t a small resort, but it does feel like one of Waikiki’s best deals on affordable accommodations.
